I agree. It should have ended with Light making a dystopian world (silent and terrified world). Or focus on him realizing that he cannot create the utopia he thought he could achieve, and it's some emotional roller coaster of self-actualization and him reflecting on stuff, type shit.

But they went with the boring, and lazy conclusion of "let's just kill the guy."
