From what I understand .org has the highest IQ humans per capita on the internet so I though I'd ask for advice. I've graduated as an electrical engineer about a year ago and have been working but this shit fucking blows. Sometimes you get to apply your engineering knowledge but for the most part you are a glorified paper pusher. I'm thinking about quitting and learning data science/ CS or some shit, doing some projects in Python and then applying for work in the field. Thoughts? I've saved up enough to NEET for a while, I'm thinking 6-months to learn and create a project or two in Python. From there I'll apply for a position or maybe do financial analyst, learn the market and become rich. Advice you 200 IQCELS? Can't believe I worked hard to finish with a 3.9 GPA only to end up doing this garbage. I swear if being an arborist paid 6 figures I would have done it but this materialistic world has consumed me.

Aren't you 6'4"?

At 6'4", I would glide through life ngl. I would somehow make money without working, it would all just work out somehow

Gliding through women is easy but I don't care about that right now, I want to make money. Should I find a rich milf and dick her down for money?

mate you already did you degree, focus on the area now, if you want to learn some programming a part do it but focus on searching for a job as an electrical enginer seems like a way more practical approach

yeah something like that Idk nigga u 6'4", just improvise. The world is your oyster.

Remember that god loves you and that you're his favourite (judging by the fact that you're 6'4"), so everything you do will work out in the end.

I've learned a lot of skills required for programming which is why I'm thinking about making the switch. I get to work from home and the pay is better. I'm thinking financial analyst down the route.

it's a very good degree but I don't want to wageslave for the rest of my life and climb the corporate ladder.

Feeling the same but I work in CS and my biggest problem is the business domain I'm working in is really boring. I feel like if I was working on a project related to my interests then I'd enjoy it a lot more but that can be fixed with a team switch eventually or job hop. I would try switching companies before you change your entire career over your first job. You're early in your career so you're not going to get the glamorous stuff anytime soon, gotta work your way up to that.

And careful what you wish for, lots of data scientists hate their work because they just push meaningless unimpactful analytics, reports, dashboards.

Unless you have genuine interest in CS, I would not do it for the money, you'll be just as miserable as you are now.

My biggest problem is that because of where I live, the majority of jobs available for an EE are directly related to the auto industry and I despise working in that industry and don't see myself moving to a different area. The reason I say DS/CS is because I've done CS projects before in Uni and enjoyed them and a lot of what I learned as an EE student was related to CS/DS (C,C++, Assembly, Prob&Statistics) and I feel like I enjoyed that a lot more then what I do now.

Here is a list of options in order of best to worst:

1. Be born rich (common sense)

2. Be lucky (if you are not born rich, then you can try your luck with options trading on margin. This requires risk and a high chance at losing all your money, but if you are lucky, then you will make a lot).

3. STEM (you have the highest chance of getting a good job because its hard and nobody wants to do it. Mostly filled with incels because they do not have the connections, money, luck, or social skills of other more fortunate people).

4. Business (Useless degree if you do not get accepted to a good college or have connections. This is better than stem if you do meet those 2 requirements).

5. Trades (For low class losers that can’t get a degree in STEM. You will be doing shit work while some engineer or someone with a degree over you sits in air conditioning all day. You will be stuck in your hometown with little financial freedom, but you will be doing better than someone who did not go into the trades or college).

6. Military (Brutal job for your mental and physical health. You give up your freedoms and get treated like a child. On the plus side you don’t have to worry about adult obligations like housing, food, or healthcare. You also get the GI bill, so you can go to school and get your living expenses paid for. You also get to leave your shithole town and have a chance at seeing the world).

7. NEET (Socially acceptable if you are a woman, but will destroy any status you have if male. If you are disabled mentally or physically, than you can collect money off the government. You can also look for a psychiatrist to diagnose you even if nothing is wrong with you).

My main plan is to use option 3 to make money and use that money for option 2 (trading). Go big or go home.

Im going to college next year and gonna major in cs just for the money, is it really that bad? I just wanna be able to make a lot of money and retire in 15 years. Sorry if this sounds naive, im genuinely curious.

If this is your goal just know that you're competing against very hard working people who do have a passion for CS and you'll know who they are once you're in college.

If you are still going to do it just for the money, I would start grinding leetcode as early as possible (now), get FAANG internships then get a return offer since FAANG internship interviews are far easier than once you're experienced. You can make lots of money this way and easily retire in 15 years or less but again, that's 15 years doing something you don't really enjoy and that will hinder your success and make learning much more difficult, which is what you will be doing, all the time.

Damn bro for someone who owns a company to still not have enough money is insane, and even with devoting so much time to it too. Im guessing its cuz he needs more money to provide for ur family tho.

Im hoping to work in faang or nvidia or any other high tech yeah. Tbh i dont really enjoy anything, but ive done work related to cs and its what im best at so hopefully once i start college ill become more passionate towards it.
Im planning on taking the AI path for cs, hopefully this field will be crazy important in the future and ill get a good position.

You expect to get paid 6 figures in a field like ee after graduating a year before?

Nigga why are engineeringcels are such a retard.

I'm studying me myself and working part-time in a mechanic to get sum experience because I don't want to be a white collar slave with a near perfect GPA like your dumbass.

Why are you so hostile, is it because you're an insecure low IQ mechanic? I'm pretty close to making 6 figures jfl but that's besides the point. If you read what I said I want to switch because I find the work boring not because the pay. Being a wage slave won't get me where I want to be and I eventually plan to do something else, I just need capital to start. You probably didn't bother to read everything I typed on this thread but that's to be expected from a mechanic :feelskek:.

engineering might make a good fortune in the future since it will be purely focused on robotics and ai.

You need to find a way to monetise your electrical engineering skills.

Even if it’s something as dumb as starting a phone repair store (this is a business you can sell after you start making a profit from it).

Nigga I’m studying in the one of the best engineering schools in Europe and I make very good money working as a mechanic, even though its a part-time job. I’m not embarassed about working like a real man instead of sitting all day. You probably can’t even install a light switch by yourself. While you sit on a office chair all day, I’m learning from an ex f1 pitstop crew chief of Alfa Romeo.
