Yes because the Karma system promotes groupthink/conformity. Instead of shit getting bumped by activity it gets displayed by upvotes. You can sort by controversial but nobody does that, and it fucks you over because you'll get negative karma if you post something against their rigid set of beliefs. Opposing viewpoints are shut down immediately
