One of the few times I’ve spent with my brother after he came back from Afghanistan was a fishing trip the both of us took down to the local pond downtown. After we got settled in he went into veteran story mode and started telling me about his time in Kabul. He went into detail on how shitty everything smelled, as in human shit everywhere. He’d say that him and his military buddies would smoke cigarettes just to ward off the overwhelming smells of human waste. One tale he shared was of a mother using her child as a human shield against a flare then begging him and his friends to save her kid literally throwing the child at my brothers friends. “People” running over kids, stomping them into barbed wire, open defecation and all the human barbarism you can get…
He ended with the moral of the story being…Those “people” aren’t people.
I genuinely don’t give a fuck about the genocide. I bet 99% of the Palestinian population would behead my ass so why should I care if people whose religion literally says “hey! Kill this person in particular!” get wiped from existence? They’d want the same fate (if not worse) for me.
