Nearly all good users left voluntarily, the ones that got banned were shitposters and when they did get banned, they often returned a few months later because we end up expiring their bans.

I actually think most of them left, the only users that actually get banned are those that are prone to shitposting and rulebreaking, they rack up warnings, which those that I’d consider high IQ (productive users) don’t often do.

Fair I suppose, though we like to keep it restricted to the OffTopic section, some of it still trickles into the other subforums.

I guess it’s because there’s essentially no moderator that actively browses trough the subforums with the intent of cleaning it up a bit. So a lot of shitposts go unnoticed. We’re mostly busy with PMs, approvals or reports.

A possible solution to this could be by having new moderators whose only task is to keep a specific subforum in check. I believe Serge & Master once planned on implementing it but it went no where.

Contrary to what most belief, it’s original intent was to make the forum more publicized (not make it more obscure) by having a place that condenses all the good information rather than having it spread over thousands of threads.

Only once it was found out the exclusive access restricted web crawlers from indexing the content within the subforum (so it appears in search engines results) it was removed.

I’m still 50/50 on it.
One hand, having it be exclusive is what most members want so the information isn’t as readily available but on the other hand, we’d have to deal with an influx of shitposters whose only intent is to reach whichever post mark is required to view the subforum.
