yeahh the problem is that in the uk we have public healthcare. while i went to school every day in agonising pain, i was on a waitlist for such extraction surgery. horrid.

I had this issue as well but I was able to cut it with a special nail shear we had at home and put some wodka on it and a bandaid.

I've had them like every month for 5+ years, always on different areas and reoccuring.
I've always diyd it with a nail slipper which I turn sideways and then cut into the nail down, removing the ingrown part. And also one of those things you use to open your case for the sim card on your phone go get under the nail
Has worked everytime, although it is very painful and oftentimes doesn't work.
But I've had surgery on one and worst experience of my life. The pain was ridiculous for two weeks and ai xouldn't even thing of walking then.

I've done this 50+ times easily

thanks tensor, you a real one fr. my dad's are even worse, he had his nail bed fully burnt off bcs of how curved his nails are. poor guy hasn't had a big toenail for like 30 years now

From my experience you need to go super deep and get everything out. Sometimes you think you got it but theres actually a part even deeper you still need to get out
