This is my first guide yet it'll be the last hair guide you'll ever need, your almost guaranteed to learn something new here , as deep as you scroll

(thread song because if your not being stimulated than you won't read)

We all know if you have no hair you have no life, hair is the most important miscellaneous trait you can need, it is known to be sexually appealing because it shows how healthy and fertile you are. But how do we actually keep our hair free from balding, keep it growing thick and healthy and properly do it so we can appeal to others ? We will cover protecting your hair from steroids, DHT, scalp health, protein to moisture balance , growth factors, drugs we can take to keep our hair, hair lightening at home and more ! This will be a long thread that covers a lot more than the same information that's regurgitated over and over again. I will try to format this with spoilers and colors to make it easy for all you attention spancels to read and link studies for you iqcels.

But first off, how does hair grow ? Our hair grows in four stages, anagen, catagen and telogen and exogen.
Stages of Hair Growth Plus How to Maintain Hair Health in Every Stage

When we are balding our anagen phase doesn't just stop it undergoes a process called miniaturization, typically in healthy people anagen stage lasts about 5 years than might be just 1 year than a few months and less and less time until your once thick healthy luscious hair is just little hairs like the ones on your body and are thin weak and extremely short . So logically you can ask what actually causes balding ?

Balding can be caused from : AGA ( androgenic alopecia) , frictional alopecia , traction alopecia, alopecia areata and heavy metals.

Hair Loss :

Androgenetic Alopecia: An Encompassing ...

Androgenic / Androgenetic Alopecia
The most common and reported way for male hair loss is androgenic alopecia (aga). AGA is caused when genetically sensitive individuals have DHT bound to their hair follicles and cause it to miniaturize. DHT isn't necessarily the bad guy, it's more your genetic follicular sensitivity. Many men have healthy thick hair while having high DHT. But if we are one of the unfortunate that have high follicular sensitivity to DHT or are on AAS here is how we should protect our hair.

KX 826 is a high potency topical androgen receptor antagonist developed by Kintor Pharma , it competes with DHT from binding to the hair follicles causing miniaturization and has low systemic risks. KX 826 is 100,000 times more potent than Fluridil and Clascoterone although this does not necessarily mean it grows 100,000 times more hair but it does have a much higher affinity for binding to hair follicles . In actual human trials, it achieves hair regrowth similar to oral Finasteride. Studies also show that it is tolerable in long term trials, but possible side effects include: itching, redness, or contact dermatitis.

Clascoterone is a first in class topical androgen receptor inhibitor that functions as an antagonist to DHT. Mild side effects like redness itching could happen with Clascoterone.

RU58841 is a non steroidal anti androgen and other than dut and fin one of the most well known anti androgens known out there for balding and some even use it for acne.

Fluridil is a topical non steroidal topical anti androgen

GT20029 is a first in class topical PROTAC (androgen receptor degrader) that recently finished its Phase II trials, unlike other topical anti androgens instead of competing or blocking receptors it literally tags the receptor in the scalp for destruction, it seems extremely promising and the most interesting in my opinion. Another benefit for GT20029 is that since its so extremely potent and long lasting users only needed to apply it once or twice a week, extremely convenient. Very effective for hair growth as well.

Topical Dutasteride is a topical 5ar inhibitor not a direct anti androgen (same goes for topical finasteride) but unlike oral dutasteride it block both Type 1 and 2 enzymes and since Type 1 is so active in the skin and scalp it is shown in studies to be more effective than oral dut for treating androgenic alopecia
Study for Topical Dutasteride

Topical Finasteride is a topical 5ar inhibitor not a direct anti androgen , unlike topical dutasteride where dutasteride can inhibit both type 1 and 2 enzymes , topical finasteride only affects the type 2 enzyme.

Nandrolone is a part of the 19-nortestosterone derivatives , unlike testosterone it does not convert into DHT via 5ar , it converts into Dihydronandrolone (DHN) which is really gentle and weak, if you take a 5ar inhibitor nandrolone won’t be able to turn into DHN and the nandrolone will build up and shred your hair. You can use topical androgen antagonists and implement other things I talk about in this thread (NOT INHIBITORS)

Trenbolone is also a 19-nor derivative , does not convert via 5ar meaning it attacks receptors on its own fin and dut won’t save it because it doesn’t need 5ar to convert, your only prayer once again are topical androgen antagonists and implementing other things I talk about in this thread (same goes for trestolone and mibolerone, if your on these say a prayer)

Since these are synthetic and have a higher affinity to receptors compared to natural DHT , you’ll need a higher dosage of anti androgens , you must either mix a 8-10 percent strength (compared to the usual 5%) or buy a higher strength anti androgen.

Compounds like Winstrol , Anavar etc, since they are just synthetically modified forms of DHT any 5ar inhibition won’t work because 5ar inhibitors stop the conversion to DHT from testosterone not DHT itself . 5ar inhibiting compounds stop testosterone from converting to DHT , but if you inject a DHT derivative there's no conversion to stop so it’ll bind straight to the receptors. You can only use a topical antagonist and implement other things I talk about in this thread.

Dutasteride is a 5ar inhibiting drug that stops the conversion of testosterone to DHT, logically this stops DHT binding to the hair follicle because less DHT in the body means less binds to hair , side effects could be things like erectile dysfunction.
Study on Oral Dutasteride

Like oral dutasteride , oral finasteride stops the conversion of testosterone to DHT , allowing less DHT to bind to the hair follicles stopping androgenic alopecia although it is weaker than dutasteride.

Redensyl, Capixyl and Procapil (RCP) , is a synergistic plant based peptide complex typically used for treating alopecia and as an alternative to minoxidil if you are too sensitive to minoxidil. It works by improving nutrient and blood delivery to hair and stimulates dormant stem cells. It has been proven to be an efficacious alternative to minoxidil and could potentially outperform it. It can even reduce gray hair.

Sublingual minoxidil is taken under the tongue , it has benefits over oral minoxidil such as less heart palpitations because it bypasses first-pass liver metabolism and enters the bloodstream directly , giving you more stable levels of the drug.

When using something like pyrilutamide , ru58841 or topical valproic acid , you cannot just put the raw powder on your scalp, you need to mix it in to be able to be used on the scalp using a vehicle solution which can be pre bought. To mix raw anti androgens like Pyrilutamide or RU58841 powder into a custom topical mix using the solution I linked below you need to sanitize a dry workspace, zero out a digital milligram scale with a weighing boat, and measure exactly 2,500mg (2.5g) of powder for a standard 5% RU58841 solution, 5,000mg (5.0g) for a heavy-duty 10% RU58841 cycle shield, or 250mg (0.25g) for a standard 0.5% Pyrilutamide solution (or 500mg for a high-potency 1% solution). Now you must carefully funnel the measured raw powder directly into a fresh 50mL bottle of K&B Solution, seal the cap tightly, and shake it vigorously for 60 to 90 seconds. The liquid will initially look cloudy, so you should let it rest at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes until the chemical completely dissolves into the solvents and turns perfectly clear. Finally, to prevent rapid chemical degradation, you must store your bulk unmixed powders in an airtight container inside the freezer and keep your active, mixed bottle in a cool, dark cupboard or refrigerator away from direct heat and sunlight.

Solution Even though it says it is for ru58841 , you can mix pretty much any anti androgen like pyrilutamide and valproic acid.
RU58841 Pretty straight forward if you’ve been reading along or just know what it is.

Hair Growth Factors

FGF5 is what initiates the catagen phase and so on and so forth. When FGF5 is too high you begin to bald, we see this in AGA patients that they also have upregulated FGF5 in their balding areas , so how do we fix this upregulated FGF5 causing our hair to fall out earlier than necessary and causing it to go into catagen? Evolis contains properties that inhibit FGF5 in the scalp and promote anagen.

FGF5's effect in hair length

PGD2 is a lipid mediator that binds to the DP2 receptor and tells it to shorten the anagen stage, so instead of just going into catagen it shortens anagen causing miniaturization. Topical Cetirizine is an effective way to block the PGD2 pathway to increase hair density and thicken hair.
PGD2 and Cetirizine

Beta catenin is a transcription factor and a structural protein that makes hair grow. How do we boost it ? We can use microneedling LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy, basically red light caps) and Topical Valproic Acid
Studies for Topical Valproic Acid

Microneedling triggers Wnt proteins

Microneedling using a dermastamp (dermastamp are better than dermarollers for skin and scalp). It works via mechanical trauma to completely alter the cellular signaling in your scalp, but if you combine it with research chemicals incorrectly, it can cause severe health complications. Wnt beta-catenin activation via microneedling triggers a localized wound-healing response. This response violently upregulates the wnt beta-catenin pathway , the exact same pathway that steroids try to shut down and that topical valproic acid tries to rescue like we have talked about earlier.

Alopecia | Concise Medical Knowledge

Alopecia Areata
Alopecia Areata is when the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles and causes balding, it causes sudden smooth round bald spots around the size of a coin. Minoxidil or any anti androgen like we discussed earlier would not work by itself because it's not an androgen or growth issue , it is an immune system problem. That doesn't mean nothing can be done, if you suspect you have alopecia areata go to a dermatologist so they can tell you, if you've been using minoxidil or anti androgens and they haven't been working this might be what's causing your balding, as always DYOR. These treatments are ones dermatologists typically use to fix alopecia areata.

No not THOSE steroids, a dermatologist injects corticosteroids into the balding spots every 4-6 weeks

Topical steroids
These are simple creams or foams that are rubbed into the patches

JAK Inhibitors
These are oral pills (iirc properly they are working to make injections as well but for now there are pills) for more severe cases of alopecia areata

(What to do after treatment) Now after treatment you can now use RCP or Minoxidil and other growth factors to begin stimulating growth now that the actual problem is being fixed

Traction and Friction Alopecia

Traction and friction alopecia fall under mechanical hair loss, this is when you lose hair due to external forces such as touching the hair, pulling on the hair and scalp or high ponytails putting the scalp under a lot of stress. What we want to do to fix this before permanent scarring occurs and we will not be able to grow hair.

Stop wearing high ponytails or moving your hair back and putting a hat on
Switching to bonnets or silk pillowcases to reduce friction on hair at night and maintain healthier less frizzy hair overall
Although these are not the only ways to regrow hair in itself, these simple mistakes could cost you a lot in terms of having hair in 10 years or not . After you remove the tension and begin implementing other methods to grow or hair back as shown in this guide.

Believe it or not but heavy metals can cause balding because it disrupts the natural hair growth process that we discussed in the beginning and also causes weakening of the hair structure.

These three help us detox and be overall healthier , glutathione is a powerful antioxidant and can neutralize free radicals and heavy metals that can damage our hair follicles. NAC aids in our bodies production of glutathione and TUDCA is a bile acid that helps our liver flush heavy metals out of our body and into our gut so it can be excreted.

The water we drink and shower with can be very contaminated and cause us many problems , imagine literally pouring heavy metals on your hair and body. This is what a lot of you guys are doing without even realizing it. What we can do to filter our water is buy yourselves a high quality water filter to drink water from and a high quality shower filter to shower with cleaner water aiding us in keeping our hair and staying healthy.

Time for you to stop ldaring and go outside and actually exercise for once, exercising and sauna use helps excrete metals outside of your body with exercising causing more excretion than sauna use. Although this does not mean the sauna is useless just that metabolic heat is more efficient than external heat for excretion
Excretion of Heavy Metals via Exercising and Sauna usage

Contaminants and heavy metals kick out the minerals we need for healthy hair growth and a healthy body. Once we get heavy metals out (or while we are getting the heavy metals out) we need to replenish the minerals that heavy metals were kicking out either from our diet and if that's not possible than from supplementation.
(An Important Extra Note) Remember that hair is a miscellaneous trait that is sexually desirable because healthy hair = a healthy body, when excreting heavy metals out our body will prioritize our organs before we see improvement with our hair, you will most likely feel better and look better before you see improvements in your hair.

Prolactin and cortisol are both stress hormones , everybody knows stress causes hair loss. (more specifically telogen effluvium, which instead of premature shedding it prematurely just rests) So what can we actually do about this to lower stress, feel better and keep our hair ?
Magnesium basically blocks the neuroendocrine pathways that send cortisol to the brain, and vitamin e is shown to significantly lower prolactin.

Scalp Health
Scalp Conditions With Photos: Causes ...

How do you even expect to keep healthy hair if your scalp is screwed ? For pure hypothetical Imagine a girl is playing with your hair and a bunch of dry scalp falls out like snow… Or you have got dandruff and she gets oil and yellow bits all in her hands :feelsugh: Disgusting.

Differentiating between dandruff and dry scalp
Unfortunately a lot of people try to fix a dry scalp thinking it's dandruff as the two get confused together often. So how do you even tell if you’ve got a dry scalp or dandruff ? The easiest way to tell is if the bits in your scalp and hair are either yellow or white, as someone who used to have tons of white bits in my hair I thought I had dandruff so I was scrubbing my head with shampoo trying to get rid of it and kept wondering why my hair looked more brittle, drier, frizzier and just worse overall. If you’ve got dandruff you’ll see yellow bigger oilier pieces in your hair, if you’ve got dry scalp you’ll have white little bits in your hair than fall out when you ruffle your hair. This section is going to be simpler just because scalp care shouldn't be so hard anyway.

Dandruff
Dandruff is caused by a fungal overgrowth by something called Malassezia or excess oil is causing it.
Ketoconazole shampoo: The strongest OTC for killing scalp fungus if you’ve really got a bad case of dandruff this is the way. It also lowers DHT in the scalp but there are much better options if you want a topical anti androgen.
Piroctone Olamine shampoo : Milder for milder cases of dandruff and oily scalps
Salicylic acid shampoo : For physically getting rid of those yellow crusts

Dry scalp:
Personally I dealt with this and it was an easy fix , you're probably washing your hair with shampoo too often, just use water every few days and give regular rinses. Personally, how I fixed mine. But if your case is bad you can try hydrating the scalp itself with this The Ordinary
And stop showering with hot water on your head, why would you literally do that ?

Protein to Moisture balance
Does your hair feel too brittle and stiff like straw ? Too many flyaways and looks dull ? Does your hair not have any volume at all just falls limp and is way too soft and might even straighten out if you’ve got a wavier/curlier hair type. This means you have a protein moisture imbalance where there isn't enough protein to hold structure or not enough moisture where it feels like straw and snaps off easily. Not enough is said on this, this can make a world’s difference when you go out having a good balance makes your hair look good even on days where you don't intend it too giving it natural bounce definition and a shiny look. Easiest way to tell is to do a stretch test, you pluck a hair and stretch it if it just stretches and stretches but it doesn't bounce back properly to its original shape you’ve got protein deficiency if it doesn't stretch at all and just snaps, you need moisture.

If your hair is too dull like too straw-like and just has flyaways, you need moisture, just washing your hair and hoping will not do much good for you.
Clarify or double shampoo to get rid of all the product buildup you might have, your hair will feel drier but we are going to fix that.

Straight hair : Pick a watery moisture treatment with something like hyaluronic acid or squalene, do not pick something with heavy butters and creams as too much moisture is something you do not want, then wet your hair in the shower and use your treatment for around ⅓ of your hair. Straight hair is prone to oversaturation.

Wavy hair : You want a lighter cream for a moisture treatment (not a heavy cream or butter) , you will go shower and scrunch it into your hair. Scrunch until you hear a squish sound, this is moisture physically entering the hair shaft

Curly hair : You want a thicker cream, you will wet your hair in the shower and apply the cream all over your hair then scrunch it in until you hear a squish sound, this is moisture entering the hair shaft.

Coily hair : You need a heavy butter, your hair type tends to be the driest and more fragile , apply your heavy butter to your entire head, use the praying hands method to coat all the coils and leave it in there until you rinse.

Straight Hair : Straight hair oversaturates quickly and can become brittle if hit with heavy proteins. Use a very light formula containing hydrolyzed silk or keratin. Apply it strictly to the bottom 1/3 of your hair and comb it through evenly.

Wavy Hair : Choose a lightweight protein cream or a protein-infused leave-in spray. This gives you the structural bounce to help your waves hold their shape without flattening them out.

Curly Hair : Unlike straight or wavy hair you’ll need a dedicated, intensive protein treatment mask to rebuild the structural architecture of the curls so they can bounce properly , something from a curly hair brand like curlsmith.

Coily Hair : Coily hair requires an amino acid or hydrolyzed vegetable protein pack blended into a deep conditioning base. Because coily hair breaks easily at the sharp turns of each coil, a heavy-duty structural protein treatment is required to prevent snapping during detangling.

Hair Lightening :

Summer is coming, boys, and everyone loves lighter hair. There are various methods to lightening your hair , we can go over them.

Sun-In

Sun in , as it sounds like , is applied to the damp hair and you simply go outside in the sun and let it lighten. It typically takes a few daily sessions. If your hair is very dark like a black or a very dark brown with no highlights it could potentially turn orange. To combat this you can use a blue shampoo toner. Do strand tests to see how fast your hair changes.

Hydrogen Peroxide

There are some threads on here about this which I’ve found , and I'll tag the users on the bottom

of this thread which I have borrowed from, I will add what I would personally do below these threads.

https://looksmax.org/threads/how-to-lighten-your-hair-without-dye-simple.1941976/

https://looksmax.org/threads/hydrogen-peroxide-on-hair.1732388/

Remember that using hydrogen peroxide is a chemical process, which degrades melanin (doesn't mean you should put it in your eyes to get lighter eyes) and it degrades melanin quite aggressively. Done incorrectly you’ll surely damage the bonds and proteins in your hair, but it’s reversible especially if you take my advice above on protein/moisture above. As it degrades melanin it will also damage keratin bonds in your hair weakening the structure and causing protein damage (possibly). The way to do this is by using 3% (DO NOT USE HIGHER AS YOU WILL MOST LIKELY PERMANENTLY DAMAGE YOUR HEAD FUCKTARD) which you can purchase at a market or pharmacy , dilute it by half parts water (50/50) you will spray this diluted mixture on damp hair evenly and keep it for at most 15-30 minutes. Do not soak your hair with this mixture or put it on your scalp. Using a blow dryer or staying in the sun , similarly to sun in will help it lighten faster, you can do multiple sessions over the course of a week. After this your hair will most likely have lightened , but remember we just weakened the bonds and protein in our hair , also our hair has probably lost moisture as well. We should use protein and condition our hair afterwards. If your hair has turned orange it needs blue shampoo or toner. Do strand tests to see how fast your hair changes.

Lemon juice

Lemons can lighten hair , but do not think that this makes it a safer or more natural alternative to hydrogen peroxide, it is still dangerous and potentially damaging. Lemon juice is highly acidic because of its citric acid content , it's about 2-3 on the ph scale. When the lemon juice on your hair hits the sun (it needs sun to activate like sun-in) it causes photo-oxidation which degrades the melanin in your hair. Dilute it half (50/50) in water and spray on your damp hair than sit out in the sun, do not let it on your skin or scalp as it can cause phytodermatitis (not fun). Use protein and moisture afterwards. Do strand tests to see how fast your hair changes.

Salon bleaching / Dying hair lighter/darker

If you do not want to bother doing it DIY or are afraid you’ll mess it up, you can dye it at a salon or get it bleached but that shit is not cheap.
