Keep coping with your “functional” gym exercises.

You say bench press ain’t functional ’cause “How often do you press weight off your chest in real life? Never.”

But how are lunges functional? People seem to think lunges are functional, but not a single human on Earth lunged their way to work. People don’t lunge in real life, lol.

Functional gym exercises (excluding plyometrics):
  1. Farmer’s Walk — carry heavy things over long distances
  2. Deadlift — pick up heavy objects
  3. Pull-Up — climb
  4. Row – row a boat
Even these are debatable. Pull-ups are useful for climbing trees (which you never do), climbing rocky walls (which you never do), climbing ropes (as if you’re in the military or a SWAT team—jfl at you, wannabe coper), and saving your life if you happen to be hanging off the edge of a cliff or building (when are you ever in this sort of situation?). Rows are useless if you don’t row boats.

Pretty much nothing you do in the gym really is functional. Keep coping with your functional training.

Going to the gym at all is bullshit.

Here's a secret none of the gymchads will ever tell you: 99.9% of having a good body is genetics + roids. It trumps literally everything else. Your exercise program borderline doesn't matter.

if you work out for 6 months you will look better than you did before. that's a fact. durrrrr. cope. improvement is cope.

Functional training = carryover to various athletic movements

Functional training =/= doing precisely the same thing in the gym and elsewhere
