Pretty much why I don't play video games except the occasional exception like Witcher 3 or Elden Ring. 90% of the audience that plays AAA games is male and noone reasonable wants to play a game where the protagonist is some poc ugly female nonbinary whale interacting with other unattractive NPCs while trying to shove political messaging down your throat. The fact that games have tons of fetch quests, retarded checklists, chores and waste your time is another factor of course, coupled with an ever increasing constant monetization like microtransactions and overpriced low effort dlcs. However, the tide has finally started to turn. Not just in gaming but in movies and tv series as well. The Blackrock ESG funds are getting dry(since it has stopped making them money), companies fire the DEI hires and everything is gettng better slowly. In short, go woke go broke fuckers!

I agree with everything that you’ve said but tbh I kinda disagree here because I don’t think you release how much potential these games have, like imagine with 2024 graphics we had huge budget companies making a Viking game fighting other rival clans with a solid.and historically accurate protagonist. I honestly think Arthur Morgan is the last protagonist we’re ever going to get where we re like “ ye I wanna be like him” . Like gaming has SOOOO MUCH FUCKING POTENTIAL but they just waste it. Like look at ghost of “yotei” trailer dropped couple days ago which is linked to ghost of Tsushima but ofc it’s a female lead ffs

Female leads aren’t bad but they are forced to push a politic woke agenda instead of caring about story’s authenticity. Also they make them less attractive on purpose and if someone calls out that they are like you are a gooner omg u beast even though average male lead in video games are all top 1 percent in looks and physique.
