The COG, a stand-in for the USA and NATO, is besieged by a race of vaguely humanoid subterranean creatures (i.e., subcontinentals) in the immediate aftermath of the collapse of its chief rival, the Union of Independent Republics: an obvious calque on Fukuyamaist end of history, the Soviet Union, and replacement migration that followed.
The Locust Horde is emerging from the ground (literally) to exterminate the humankind, and, interestingly, to escape an even more rabid and parasitic force, the Lambent, a clear play on the highly violent intrasubcontinental conflicts and ethnic strife.
The Locust ranks also happend to be varied to the point where infantry and commanders represent their own subracial groups, further mirroring the Arab and Indian societies.
What’s the solution then?
Using orbital weaponry and high-yield nuclear weapons against the human (!) cities at risk for asset denial:
