Realistically, I think its probably 50+ years off for adult humans, at least for the kinds of things people want it for. Hell, it might even be impossible as a lot of how we are formed is not just genes but interactions between the genes and the environment. If earth's gravity did not exist for example, or was markedly less, how would your skeleton form? Very differently, to say the least. One example among many.

Designer babies on the other hand are happening right now, as we speak. I wouldnt be hasty about going to china with your bitch however, the first generation is likely to suffer a great deal from incompetence and unknown variables.
