Genio or bimax?

Can I cope with sliding genio instead of bimax? What movements should I ask for? Show me some morphs please

Initially I planned to go for jaw surgery, but I have some TMJD and few surgeons told me it will likely get worse after bimax. So my new idea is to do sliding genio and get braces to straighten my teeth

One of the major things that prevents people in your position from getting bimax is the prospect of the braces before and after. If you already need braces, that should be a significant "vote" for bimax.

You need CCW rotation pretty moderately... genio on it's own would help but I bet you would be disappointed, especially from the 3/4th view.

I was in a similar position to you, but less recessed and downward grown, and chose genio. I still have some regrets I didn't get bimax.
