So guys, I had a bimax and genio 2 months ago and i'm starting to regret the excessive genio movements feels like my chin is overprojected and makes my face thinner and super long. Idk if it's an overall improvement but i'm considering getting a small setback revision for the genio (like 3-4mm) . Do you guys think it'd be worth it? I'm kinda worried about getting more numbness in the chin area it's a risk for sure. I still haven't fully regained sensation there and it's been like 2 months but it's getting better slowly so i'm thinking about the benefit to cost ratio.

Why did they do such small movements on the maxilla and mandible but massive genio

Because my bite was sort of stable and despite decompensation I wouldn’t have been able to get much advancement unless I did extractions but for my surgeon and ortho extractions were completely out of the question. In hindsight maybe I should’ve insisted.

i dont event think dj was needed in the first place ngl you didnt ascend or descend but it was just waste of money imo. Horizontal genio alone would have been enough your surgeon is stupid for doing vertical height on your genio wasnt needed, honestly your chin was super long to begin with maybe he didnt even add vertical height but he should have reduced it nevertheless. Should have done genio jaw implants and periobrital implants

Theres no vertical height lol it was fully horizontal. But I agree my chin was probably super long to begin with just recessed. Do you think doing a bigger bsso movement instead would’ve yielded the same problem? Also it was covered by insurance so I didn’t really lose money but I wish I got abit smaller genio.
