Genius scam my local carwash are running.

Kind of pissed because it took me several washes before I realized what was going on.

They go ahead and clean your car as normal, but the final product they use (whatever it is, i'm not a car guy) seems like it washes off like everything else, but it actually leaves behind a very very slightly sticky film on your car. So in about a 2 weeks your car is filthy again. I only realized this was what was going on after I had to wash my car somewhere else and then noticed it stayed clean for much longer.

I know a similar case. There’s a guy here who fix punctured tires. He spread nails around 1km radius of his shop so more cars/bikes get punctured and come to him.

If you have a 15 year old shitbox then obviously cleaning it makes little difference. But the idea if you don't have a luxury brand car under 5 years old then there's no point is just insane. Pay for a car wash just once, you'll see the difference. What about the inside of your car btw?
