What can be used with Anastrozole?
One other treatment that doctors have studied with Anastrozole is Growth Hormone, called HGH or Somatropin. Growth Hormone is something that our body makes naturally to help us grow especially when we are kids and teenagers. It helps our bones, muscles and other parts of our body develop.
Anastrozole works differently. It helps lower the estrogen levels in our body, which can slow down the process of our bones stopping to grow. Our bones grow in areas called growth plates so if we can keep these plates open for a time our body might have more time to grow taller.
The reason doctors think about using these two treatments is that Growth Hormone can help our body grow and Anastrozole might help give our body more time to grow. Some doctors have tried this with boys who have problems, with growing. It is not something that can make anyone taller just because they want to be.
These treatments are very powerful and can affect our body in ways so they can also have bad side effects. This is why doctors only use them when they think it will really help. Our height is also affected by other things like the genes we get from our parents what we eat how much we sleep and how healthy we are.
