I’m writing this as I’m staying up on a school night and i was thinking that people telling you the #1 thing you can do for height is sleep is the most cope thing ever when pharmaceuticals exist. First of all, the only sleep stage that actually matters for height is slow wave sleep, which you will get regardless of when you go to bed, which happens in the first 90 minutes of sleep. Second of all, forcing yourself to sleep when you don’t feel tired whatsoever is objectively worse than going to bed when you feel tired and are in need of rest because your deep sleep is better when your actually tired and need the sleep, resulting in higher sleep quality. Lastly, sleep will never come close to what pharmaceuticals can do. An example being an fgfr inhibitor like erdafitinib, which can bring you past your genetic potential, which sleep will not do. Another being hgh, which won’t do as much as an fgfr inhibitor but is still very effective. Your basically injecting what your body produces while sleeping but is incomparably more effective in increasing final adult height. My last example being an aromatase inhibitor which can keep your growth plates open for longer by crashing your estrogen, the primary driver in growth plate closure. This brings me to my point that sleep barely scratches the tip of the iceberg with height interventions and is complete cope in terms of increasing height.
Note: sleep is still essential for the body and I emphasize that it is key for other areas of development, this thread is only talking about height.
