I was wondering if after graduation it is possible to get a scholarship to complete a Master's degree in the US or Europe as an Egyptian and move to the US or europe after permanently, perhaps a full paid one.

has anyone of you done this or has any useful info or experience regarding the matter?
and what are the logistics and economics of such move?

for info I'm a Mechatronics Engineer and I'll be graduating in 2 years.

master is hard but Bachelor’s its not too hard as a non eu

Even more unlikely to get a scholarship for postgraduate degrees as an international student.

I can't comment on university scholarships. I've not achieved one for tuition but only to research alongside some Doctors in Australia and for high school tuition.

hmm shouldn't it be easier since it is more common than a research one?

just cross the border from morocco to spain

got those what i need is logistics like what kind of money they provide, where to stay at and for how much, etc
my parent was a european who immigrated to usa and got college here
he got full scholarship cuz it was easy back then and he just stayed at the college dorms

even for a booming field like robotics?
I’ll tell you what happens in my case. I’m from Brazil, and I was looking into doing a bachelor’s degree in another country. The thing is, they usually analyze your entire high school transcript and may also require some exams. I assume they do something similar for master’s degrees, but I have a friend who is also from Brazil and did his master’s in Italy. However, he already had many years of work experience and was already working in Italy and he is from IT area

Note my emphasis was on you being international, not the type of scholarship.

In any case, full ride scholarships are the most competitive because they are the greatest in terms of compensation and number of applicants. Have some sense.

Work experience probably helps a lot, especially if in big companies.
Yeah I will give it a shot, but the thing is not many robotics companies exist here in egypt

Maybe I can go an alternative path of going there for work then getting my master's there after

Also keep in mind that it’s not just about that. You usually need to have some money saved, around €5k to €10k in some cases, a valid passport, all your documents in order, and there are also application fees you have to pay for many universities just to assess whether you’re eligible for a master’s degree. But overall, I think it’s really worth leaving a developing country like mine and moving to a more developed country. But what about a bachelor’s degree? Have you ever thought about doing one in europe ?

Yeah those too I will get them in order, I'm already doing a bachelor's degree here in Egypt, it would be a waste of 3 years really but maybe if it come down to it I can major in something else

like bachelor in europe its only 3 years
a question tho, do you pick the uni you want to go to and then try to find a scholarship they offer or is it the other way around, you search for a scholarship and go to whatever uni is offering/accepts you?

Master's are generally only worth it your going to a top 10-20 Uni
thoose uni dont really hand out scholarship's at all in the first place.

it's lowkey over, especially if your a international

Hes not getting full ride,
maybe if it's research based especially since it's stem, but master's in any stem is hardly really research based to begin with

tho scholarship's are very common if he where to shoot for a PHD

I'm not doing it for the degree really the degree is just an added bonus and a way inside to form a network in my field of study that could be useful to me later on in many ways, what I'm doing it for is to move to a more developed country permanently,

hmm I guess I could do so now that you say, I didn't consider it earlier since where I live you must do a master's before you do a PHD

It's possible n ive seen people do PHD's without master's mutiple time's
tho doing a PHD in stem is incredibly rigorous
n you need to ask yourself if this is something your truly passionate about n willing to sit down n research for hour's on end making theories/testing said theories
n if decent school's will accept you

usually the people who get into these PHD program's after undergrad are usually people who where research assistant during there undergrad n assisted in making paper's for said professor's during there work.

Yeah I looked into it and it seems to be possible in the US, not passionate certainly but 3 years is nothing as long as I have a path opened for me

Most people arent finishing Stem PHD"s in 3 years :feelskek::feelskek::feelskek::feelskek::feelskek::feelskek: 5 year's is considered early btw

You could go through the RA+TA route
Research assistant + Teaching assistant, which can help you get scholarship n education funding for master's tho every school is diff n do you research in this.

I'm pretty sure it'll be hard to get one if you arent first in your class for your course

I would say just get a loan and when you get a job just pay it back later

Yeah 5 years for stem, I still have 2 years to go so we will see

For foreing people its easiest to go down the nepotic/money route and get into a school thatll cost 50k per semester
