getting braces pls help

my orthodontist said i have a bad deep bite (but a projected chin), slight midline deviation tendency to the left, malocclusion on the right, hes going to address those with "fixed braces", i dont want to end up with any recessions, any piece of advice on my situation pls? i heard that braces can recess you, any knowledgeable people on this? what do i tell my orthodontist?
