getting braces soon,15, what should i know, or say that way i'm able to protect my jaw from recession, or anything that would degrade me, or if possible what is there to do to improve my facial aesthetic

Braces don't necessarily recess you, unless you're getting teeth pulled, you're fine. As for tips, idk gang, floss I guess

you can hook face pullers to it, costs below 150 bucks, proven to give forwardf growth.

Why do so many people ask this question? I'm getting braces to correct my overbite soon, not sure why everyone asks if it'll recess them, like is there an actual reason or does it happen a lot? My older brother got braces and he's really recessed as of right now, he got them taken off a year ago

I believe it's just a misconception, people getting recessed is not necessarily because of orthodontics. Majority of old school ones have the mindset of "pull and retract" their solution to everything is just to pull teeth and close in gaps, modern orthodontics are started to become more oriented on aesthetics it's now more about "expanding" or some bullshit like that.

Point is, if you're not getting teeth pulled, and it's merely to align your teeth, you're fine. HOWEVER, the moment an orthodontist talks about pulling any teeth, if your priority are aesthetic outcomes, then I'd step out and opt for surgery (sadly that's not always an option, but it's what's best)
