getting braces soon, tell me what should i do and what i shouldnt

im getting braces to fix my teeth and my overjet, but im afraid it will somehow recess me instead of protracting, please tell me what should i say to my orthodontist.

read this wrong ask for herbst if you are young otherwise you will get elastics these are both class II but mandible can advance much better via herbst unless yours is dental obviously you will be on elastics they pull down upper canines and slightly guide the mandible
