Getting Custom MARPE at 16yrs old

At the age of 8 I was administered a haas RPE. My palate has always been very narrow and my dentist wanted to give me a nice expansion before I start my braces treatment. Consequently, after having the palate expander on for only two days, iqlet 8 year old me decided that turning the key hurt too much. So believe it or not, I told my mom I wanted to go back to the dentist so they can take it off because it hurt too bad for the first two days.My mom said yes. Now obviously being an 8 year old I didn’t know what I was setting myself up for in the later years the situation being that I didn’t know shit about orthodontics and obviously I wouldn’t have expected my mom to know either. Here I am now, 16 years later, deciding it is the time to fix my mistakes from my past. I have convinced my father to allow me to get a custom marpe and I am going in for my consultation tomorrow. I am wondering if anyone has any tips or anything I should know before going into I it, and if anyone could provide me questions to ask my orthodontist beforehand and anything to utilize to get the most out of my treatment. I am going to try to get my dentist to make it a MASPE as I know that it yields more ROI cosmetics wise. Please let me know anything that could possibly benefit me for my treatment, I will take all things into consideration and it will all be greatly appreciated. Just felt like sharing this because why not.
