Getting growth plates checked?

How to convince parents to let me check growth plates? I'm willing to pay for it.

I'm 17 going on 18 and haven't grown in a year.

However, my parents are 5'10 and 6'2 so I probably should be taller.

I just want clarity and if it's worth it to try to height max.
