I guess it depends on your perspective. My post takes the reference point of the individual, yours takes the reference point of humanity as a collective.
The "advancement of the human species" though, is subjective, and biology/genetics/evolution isn't concerned with it. Its important imo to realize that evolution is just a process that happens and that's it, it has no goal and doesn't accept concepts like "advancement". Otherwise evolution gets mythologized.
