Getting my braces removed today after 4 years.

Yep, today is the day. It's the day my orthodontist FINALLY removes my braces, and it's because of pressure. I've had the slowest braces process possible. 4 long years of traditional braces.

Today I also get my removable retainer. I want to ask, what should I do with this? I'm 20, my side profile is completely flat. My chin to glabella angle is an astonishing 180°. Truly, this is a case of camouflage orthodontics, as my x-rays show I have a bit of prognatism on my upper jaw.

I believe there is nothing I can do to fix my side profile, but advice is always welcome.

Could always get a lower jaw implant to fix the curved angle of it or do a DIY filler at home it will be hard tho and that would help a boxier jaw is always better

I like this idea, my gonions aren't very defined and it is something that hurts my side profile, aside from my lack of forward projection. I'll consider this

Your face wouldn’t look like it got stomped by an elephant if your parents just let you walk around with crooked teeth. I’m also a victim of 4+ years of braces+4 pre molar extractions but I’m lucky enough to still have maxillary projection and chin projection

I felt bad posting this, look man a recessed maxillary sucks ass but in essence it’s masculine. It takes away pretty boy factors but with the benefit of giving you a more roman/ancient look. I do believe people with maxilla recession and good mandible like yourself look more sophisticated and caucasoid like

Ait bro good to hear. We probably have same maxillary recession. But unlike you I got mandible recession as well so maxilla doesn’t look flat. If I ever get a bimax il look more recessed due to upper maxilla not being affected in lefort 1. im thinking of chin wing and fillers on maxilla. To get some optimal side. You only have maxilla recession and some downgrowth sure. But fillers and you can have a projected maxilla

My midface volume isn't the greatest aswell. But having a lack of downgrowth in the posterior maxilla is definitely tough.

When you mean you have maxilla recession, do you mean your upper (posterior) maxilla? If so, implants are probably your best bet. Also depends where you want to improve (side vs front)

yeah you have some downgrowth but it doesn’t look this bad honestly. I’m sure implants would make it look less downgrown. I’ve seen way worse
Yes you are right. The posterior maxilla is slightly recessed whilst I still have slight proganthism in my lower which kind of gives illusion of forward growth. Only problem with implants/filler is that I’d still not solve my mandibular recession which is the only thing throwing of my harmony due my big nose and weak jaw. And a bimax would require a downgraft causing my face to get longer whilst my face is almost horsetier. So my only bet is a chin wing and filler/implant for midface/maxilla.
