SO i have been on Accutane for about 4 months at 40 mg/day, and my acne has improved significantly. I'd say around 90% of my active acne is gone. At this point, my main concerns are:

  • A small amount of residual scarring.
  • A large amount of post-inflammatory erythema (PIE), which covers most of my face and is currently more noticeable than the scars.

For the scars, I'm planning to do microneedling, TCA CROSS, and TCA chemical peels. However, I'd like to reduce the PIE as much as possible before starting these procedures.

I already have the following products
( vitamin c serum, niacianamide,tret,taz,azelaic acid , ghk cu )
and have previously used them without any irritation or side effects, including tazarotene.

need routine that would be most effective for example :

Option 1

  • Morning: Azelaic acid 20%
  • Night: Azelaic acid 20%

Option 2

  • Morning: Azelaic acid 20%
  • Night: Tazarotene (every night)

Option 3

  • For 3 days each week:
    • Morning: Azelaic acid 20%
    • Night: Azelaic acid 20%
  • For the other 3 days:
    • Morning: GHK-Cu
    • Night: Tazarotene

Option 4

  • Morning: GHK-Cu
  • Night: Tazarotene (every night)

Option 5

  • Morning: GHK-Cu
  • Night: Azelaic acid 20%

questions:
  1. need best routine for improving PIE while I'm still on isotretinoin
  2. Would microneedling once every 3 weeks be appropriate while following the routine? WHILE STILL ON LOW DOSE ACCUTANE
  3. Would TCA peels and TCA CROSS once a month help with the issue ? WHILE STILL ON LOW DOSE ACCUTANE
  4. Is there anything else you would recommend to speed up the resolution of PIE? WHILE STILL ON LOW DOSE ACCUTANE

attached photo for reference.

I have your exact same issue, also on isotretinoin, I'm currently using azelaic acid daily at night, playing to incorporate taz so will probably do option 3.

Micro needling every 4 weeks I did my first sessions around 2 weeks ago, so far I've already noticed results from the azealic acid.
  • Morning: Azelaic acid 20%
  • Night: Tazarotene (every night)
