Ginger hair turning brown

Im a ginger, but ive noticed my hair has been turning a lot darker over the years and morphing into a more brown colour, is there anything I can do to make sure it turns completely brown (diet wise) or is it over for me?

I don't actually have red hair on my head my beard just has a strange orange hue.
