Start with hey what is your name. If she is not dtf or you are not decent looking it will be awkward. Follow with some small talk relevant to your age gap: studies, uni, work, environment you are in (library, gym, park walking dogs...). Try to act cool and laid-back, don't act clingy or very serious, enjoy the convo. After 5-10min ask for her number or ig with the pretext of meeting sometime. Apart from this is numbers game. If she is acting aloof or cold eject early, if she is vibing with you she is probably dtf and likes you, go for the number.

Don't take tips from anyone. Just try to be natural at it. See what works for you and what doesn't. Try to lower your inhibitions or self consciousness. Maybe try to be repulsive on purpose. You might be surprised with the results. Trying to purpously act nervous when you actually are nervous can have the opoosite effect. That's what I did when I started out teaching classes. Just make learning your goal.
