Reasoning to ignore

Since I started chatting on the forum, I had the thought of never ignoring anyone, but as time went by and I interacted with some users, I ended up ignoring some people.

I put on paper my logic for ignoring someone, often people who are rude and don't give the slightest argument, if it's something that can be constructive I don't ignore it. I don't usually ignore users who are just annoying like @Xangsane, but users who are rude are the worst.

Also, I open exceptions if I notice he's being ironic/funny ofc

Good one, I had someone in here who I ignored who sent me this shit, an example of someone who I ignored:

"There is rarely ever going to be clear evidence of sexual assault. If multiple UNRELATED women accuse one man of sexual assault, the chances are very high that he’s guilty. The world is not a fairytale rainbow realm where all crimes have clear cut evidence, that’s why it’s the legal system’s job to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the crime likely took place. (Despite what incels like to talk about cause they had really shit moms, there are very few cases of false rape accusations in real life)

Also, you’re reacting with anger and calling your friend a “fucking piece of shit” before he actually did anything and based entirely on what your imagination is telling you would happen. Aka you’re throwing your friend under the bus in exchange for social credit from redpill incels."

Even ChatGPT called him wrong :lul:

  1. Hasty Generalization: The quote asserts that if multiple unrelated women accuse one man of sexual assault, the chances of his guilt are very high. This is a hasty generalization because it assumes that a pattern of accusations, without considering the individual merits of each case, equates to guilt. It overlooks the importance of due process and individual case analysis.
  2. Ad Hominem and Stereotyping: The quote makes derogatory comments about "incels" and their family backgrounds. This is an ad hominem attack, where the character or characteristics of a group are attacked rather than addressing the argument itself. It's important to engage in discussions based on the substance of the arguments rather than resorting to personal attacks.
  3. Overgeneralization: The statement claims that there are very few cases of false rape accusations in real life. The frequency of false accusations is a matter of debate and can vary depending on the context and the study. Making sweeping claims about the prevalence of false accusations can oversimplify a complex issue.
  4. Assumption of Guilt: The statement suggests that calling a friend a "fucking piece of shit" based on imagination or hypothetical scenarios is throwing the friend "under the bus." This implies an assumption of guilt without evidence or due process, which goes against the principle of "innocent until proven guilty."
While these issues reflect potential problems in reasoning and argumentation. Constructive discussions on sensitive topics like sexual assault require a careful consideration of the complexities involved, an emphasis on due process, and avoiding broad generalizations or ad hominem attacks.

True there are people who see users being rude or heated while in argument and think they have to be like that all the time to "fit in". Lot of underage users and teenagers too
