not because of belief
but for the symbolism and peace of mind it gives you

some cathedrals in europe took years to build, some men dedicated their lives to it simply because they believed in a higher power. It's riddled with hidden symbolisms, sacred architecture and writings.

u walk in there on a lazy sunday afternoon and suddenly your life zooms out and everything becomes insignificant.
There's masonic floor design, tinted windows, symbols that convey strength, peace and wealth.

Generations before you had 100x the knowledge you have today. If you're european, there's remnants EVERYWHERE. When you walk around, just pay attention to some architecture, it might change your outlook.
That varies from just regular old rowhouses, to schools, to bars, signs, statues, ...

You're practically living among history and true power and you're ignoring it everyday.

just to know generations and generations before you dedicated their entire lives to a simple belief holds power in itself.
it sounds dumb but you can actually feel the grip it held in history when you walk into a church

Tell me where did god command for a church to be made in the Bible. Where popes, nuns, priests or traditions were to be put upon the holy faith?

don't know, probably didn't. Humans are just weird species with the need to overcompensate faith

But the OP doesn’t try to explain why the church was there in the first place. It’s just the fact that it is there, built by people who dedicated their lives to a cause larger than their own lifetime.

Whether the Jesus was truely who he claimed to be or not, at least we are left with beautiful architecture that showcases humanities capabilities when united under a belief.
