goattee hair trouble

so basically I’m 15 and I have hairy genetics, I can grow a goattee pretty easily but it literally forms at the sides of my chin and leaves a massive gap in the middle, I’ve shaved it and trimmed so many times in hopes of it growing in equal but it doesnt. For context I have a butt chin so this might be the answer why but can someone help please.
