If my mother didn’t migrate to America in pursue of a better life, I wouldn’t even be me. I’d be like one of those kids you see in donation signs and shit struggling to survive. Or the typical “donate $1 for the kids in ______” you hear when ur buying groceries. But my mom actually clutched up and gave me a better life. Gave her one too.
My mom grew up in extreme poverty in El Salvador . She would tell me stories on how she’d have to wear hand me downs from my uncles. Hand me down shoes(men shoes), t shirts, all of that. Food was scarce, and her father would often wait until everyone else finished eating just to have what was left. Brutal starvemaxing.
My mom also got pregnant with my sister at the age of 15. Idk why. Maybe she got raped? Prostitution? Fooled around with no sex Ed or it was an accident. I have no idea. Just know I won’t judge her too hard. She doesn’t whore around here. Maybe because she’s sub 3 and whatnot and even when she was in her prime with my father and with me she didn’t whore around either. It was my father who did actually. Like one time I’m sure. And he was alcoholic. But that’s besides the point.
The fact she migrated here to America and started a job and worked her way up to low class in Ny actually means a lot from the living conditions in El Salvador. I’m thankful for that. God bless America. I actually have cool electronics here, I can ldar whenever, I have girls (not really), I don’t have to work as of yet, I get the proper nutrition I need that actually got me to 6’1. God I’m thankful I’m not living in a mud house in El Salvador.
