There is zero reason to think that a consciousness outside of a brain is possible. A disembodied mind creating the universe with the power of its own thought is obviously absurd. The universe shows a lot of patterns of randomness like lifeless planets. Particles colliding over long periods of time and forming stuff, the ones that happen to get settled in a region where life is possible will host life and that ones who don't will not. That's how it happens and it goes against the idea of intentional creation. I have a really hard time believing that a "god" that is obsessed with life and has human motivation and feelings would create Mars. Just why? Show me a universe where everything in it was created in an instant in perfect form and has been like that ever since and maybe a inteligent creator will make more sense. One where stuff evolves over billions of years and things are only possible if the environment allows it makes more sense under the assumption that there is no guiding hand.

I'm not claiming I know the official and objective answer to this, there is just a lot of observations about the universe that are not compatible with the idea of intentional inteligent creation. So it is about likelihood and having no reason to believe it IS real. If you look at asteroids too and how they are formed, they're leftovers of planet formations. L-e-f-t-o-v-e-r-s! You mean to tell me an intelligent perfect creator miscalculated just how much was necessary to create planets?

Well god is really a matter of definition. The problem arises when you start ascribing random properties to god. E.g an intelligence that makes it opposed to humans eating pigs.
