Genesis 1:26: God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky.” When you hear this quote from the bible, what u most likely will think is god made man to be different and more special compared to other species. However, the more important part is he made man in his image and likeness.
If this is the case, even the hella deformed guy above is made in the image of god when he’s deformed. The Chad that stole ur gf is also made in gods image. This means, god literally favors sole people more than others and condemns others to be cast from society. This is where religious people will argue everyone is made in his image, but because humans sined, we strayed away from his likeness and that is why we pick on others less fortunate and different. But this reasoning is stupid, cause try telling a person who was born deformed or disabled that don’t worry, u were made in gods image, but you have to live a very different and more miserable life compared to others. It doesn’t add up.
Now i don’t really like agreeing with Karl Marx cause capitalism rules, but Karl Marx said that “religion is the opium of the masses”. And even tho I don’t agree with communism, this quote of his I truly agree. The most religious people in this world are rich and poor people, or to make it more simple happy and miserable people. Reason being is poor people have very miserable lives, living on this rock is hard, and they have nothing to look forward too. But if they use religion as a cope, even if their life right now sucks, as long as they follow the principles and guidelines laid out by religion, they will get rewarded after this life. Rich people follow religion cause it helps clear their guilty conscience and keeps them safe. Pretty much, most religious people are living a life similar to the people in the matrix who picked the blue pill. They willingly live in a world of illusion and try to cope.
