Generally religion is a coping mechanism, humans created it because they were afraid of what is after death and to deal with different types of struggles they faced, so they needed some kind of insurance that theres something above them, looking after them. I personally believe that religious people are close minded and that they dont seek for anwsers, they rather believe in a 2000 year old book which tells about a man walking on water and splitting seas.
