thinking of starting with 1mg. is there anything that I should know/look out for?

You could do bloodwork. I had high estrogen and prolactin levels so the first night i started my boobies started to hurt. Went on nolvadex immediately. Helped a lot. Nolvadex long term isn't good, so i ordered Aromatese instead. Helped with the sensitve boobs. I felt mentally less happy and slower, so i am taking Ru58441 now. Thinking about hopping back to Fin in lower doses.

I bought the big 5 mg pills and split them in quarters. I felt huge mental sides when doing that. Now I just use 0.25 mg and it seems to be enough for me, hormones are still out of reference range tho.

Do you remember what your levels were? My estradiol floats around 50 pg/ml, not sure if I should take anything for it.

I take it a little over a year now and no side effects. My hair stopped thinning and i think crown is a lot fuller now

I just got out of severe depression with heavy medication. My hair in the crowns has already receded very much but im not risking going on fin and messing with my neurosteroids cause I dont want to go back in the hell i just came from. If balding is my destiny, so be it

I can’t believe you guys get sides from fin jfl I have zero side effects whatsoever. I also use RU and recommend that AS A MINIMUM.

I'm worried it might be a cholesterol type of deal - you don't know you're getting sides until it's too late.
Can't hurt to be proactive and try to keep your blood in line.

those levels are natural. I didnt take anything. plannen to use T, but with covid everything changed. Currently i am in the 3rd hard lockdown.

iirc the difference of DHT suppression on 1mg vs 0.25mg is something about 75% to 69% kek so I'm getting 4x more bang for my buck with less sides.

Oh damn, it should get better though, your body will produce more 5AR and your DHT will rise within weeks. The suppression won't be permanent.

Yeah. Did the same 1.25 mg daily. Idk if it was due to the pills but my mental health for sure got worse. Now I’m doing 1.25mg every other day or every 3rd day.

but i also had very good phases on fin so idk. It’s probably just my mental instability and not due to fin.

I combine fin with topical min and it 100% works. My temple area has regrowth. It’s not imagination or bias either as my hair was noticeably behind the highest forehead wrinkle. Now it’s same height and below.

my skin is also defenitly drier where I apply the min. I have a visible amount of dead skin shedding around the temple where I have hair regrowth. But nothing you can’t get rid off.

only tip is to demand the 5mg pills and not the 1 mg pills as they are much cheaper. 1mg is used solely to combat hairloss while the 5mg is used to fight cancer or shit. So the 5mg is much cheaper. You get the same amount of fin in 5mg pill for 100€ as you would get in 1mg pills for 500€. Just buy a pill splitter.

My experience has been very positive, some people say that shedding stops at day 1, that's an exaggeration, it took me about a month or so to confidently attest that shedding had stopped completely (might have slowed down before but that's much harder to measure). Once shedding had stopped I hopped on minox* and I'm seeing definite change at the 3 month mark or so.
Just laying out a realistic timeline so you don't up the dose at 2 weeks because "it's not working!"

*Minox is cope without fin btw for people with legit androgenic alopecia, if you don't resolve the underlying DHT that's miniaturizing your follicles then you're just borrowing time, like trying to pull buckets of water from a sinking ship before fixing the gaping hole at the bottom

Also you are going to decrease certain neurosteroids by partially inhibiting type 1 5ar. There are experimental things you could do to replace allopregnenolone and the like but i doubt you want to take an ssri or replace your pregnenolone.
