going to the gym right after you wake up

i tried doing this today, but i was too damn tired. i didnt eat shit beforehand nor drink any water. just boom out of bed went to gym lifted heavy af for like an hour just came home now and im tired as shit. thoughts?

I do it but only because I hope the gym is empty at that time otherwise it doesnt have any benefit besides that you cant procrastinate

Is it ok to lift weights on an empty stomach? Or good to have a granola bar or something before going?

i usually dont eat shit before lifting.. but if my mom makes like pasta or something ill eat it and go lift heavy.
im italian so not the best choices to eat before gym like cheese n shit hurt my stomach
 
I got woken up by a phone call it’s almost 6 but I might sleep for an hour then go
 
Some people get technical about it. x amount of complex carbs a certain time before gym. You know the type.

Just see what works for you. I'd try a banana or two & coffee or something before you set off for the gym. Maybe gym right after you wake up just doesn't work for you.

well i live in usa now , but my roots go to Rome on mom side and Russia on father. German aswell

I have done it after breakfast, so like 1,5 hours after i woke up. It's better if you go to the gym in the afternoon, as you are stronger and whatnot at that time.

The best is to wake up really early so that you have time to digest what you eat in the morning a little bit
 
I hate to do that. The body is the coldest after waking up, you’re much more likely to suffer injury if you go straight into the gym

Well usually been 3-4am, I get in.

Sleep 7pm-8pm. Gym is only 5 mins walk away
