or just genetic convination. although my uncles and parent (from mother side) are short, my generation of cousins are tall as fuck (for SA standars one of of my cousins got to 1.90, younger than me) due to our italian grandmother that was very tall, we all mog our parents so hard no one in my family spected us to be tall.
