I'm not a commie/socialist.
But people who are genetically gifted (footballers, NBA stars etc) use their genetic advantage to excel in their respective field. It is we as spectators/the public that give value to their skill which they acquired through nature and prevailing values in society. They cannot morally claim what they acquired as a result of genetics and not their own hard work value systems. Anyone familiar with John Rawls veil of ignorance would know that if you didn't know who you would be born as in society you would choose 'equitable' outcomes.
If Basketball was as popular as Squash LeBron James would've been a brokie. Likewise, society bestows halos on looks which allows people to take advantage of that which they can't morally claim (i.e OnlyFan simps, employment opportunities, etc)
I would propose the following tax bands:
I think the lower tax bands are more than enough to fund the compensation, so this policy is a very balanced budget. Very few people are Maher tier so the only people paying 40% would be less than 0.001% of population.
