Genetics matter a lot.

I know a guy who is 140lbs, 5’9, who’s swole asf and I know guys at that same height 30lbs heavier who are dyels. I know a guy who benches 225 for reps but doesn’t look like he gyms at all, 13 inch arms jfl and I know plenty of people who bench around 170-190 who are built like athletes.

Training methodology also matters a shit ton.

The guy who gets high lift numbers through fullbody 3x a week powercoping is far more likely to still look dyel or barely trained than the guy on a normal bodybuilding routine. To a lot of powercopers, lats, arms, abs, upper chest and shoulders are afterthoughts as they do lower body centric routines, leading to dyel physiques.


Bone size matters a lot too. A guy with 6 inch wrists can build muscle, but it won’t show through clothes, leading to a dyel look while some 7.5 inch chad has bones that push the muscle through clothes.
