honestly I've read slop like solo leveling,deadtube,juujika no rokunin (not slop but considered slop by many),watched like 10 isekais,watched baki,hajime no ippo,blue lock,so I don't classify cote as slop the show is really interesting to me because I sometimes after watching a couple episodes can think of different solutions to the shit going on in the show so my brain doesn't get rusty since I'm not doing anything at school because I'm switching schools n shit

yeah solo leveling and isekais are like fast food. Although jobless reincarnation is definitely a few leagues above other isekais, same for blue lock, I wouldn't classify it as slop (the second seasons's animation quality surely undermined its reputation tho, but the manga is good)

i mean blue lock is just aura moments for the most part,jobless reincarnation didn't fit my taste too much I watched a few episodes and stopped,the only non-slop isekai imo is re:zero because the plot and the character are complex as shit ngl

with re zero i frankly enjoyed it up until the moment i realized im being constantly baited by the potential romance between emilia and subaru but like the show always hints that yeah its gonna happen but it never actually happens and the mc ends up looking like a typical kind and hardworking but rather low iq cuck which is an archetype i despise

subaru is really high iq and has an iron will,image you had rbd,the emotional trauma would eat you inside out and yes there's romance in the main story and in the IF stories,read lust IF ,if you want romance

i feel like the show is constantly pushing the narrative that subaru is supposed to be high iq despite appearing like he isnt but after watching up until the middle of the third season I never quite managed to get that impression of him. and I feel like the trauma topic is not explored enough, especially when I compare it to peak like Steins;Gate

i was going to play steins;gate but i haven't yet so I can't really compare the two,if you want a above-high iq example of subaru then you can look back at him facing off against regulus

do play steins gate bro and steins gate 0 too. The anime is 10/10 but the games are even better trust me it has left an eternal mark on me in a very positive way. I wish I could erase my memories and replay it
