I'm not sure about modern cuts. What seems popular here is either the cut where you can't see your forehead at all as all the hair is pushed forward. Or it's more of a 'flow' thing. And some people try to rock the curtains (which looks great but only if you happen to look like a young Leo DiCaprio)

I tend to think most men look best with more of a classic cut. Maybe something like this?

But you don't tend to see it loads nowadays? Nobody seems to want to expose their hairline at all anymore. All you see in the UK is variations like this:
