most of the expenditure is hiring some self important shitcunt (see marco pierre white, gordan ramsey, anthony bourdain), performative cooks who toss knives or cut vegetables without looking, or spending hours carving and arranging food in a visually pleasing manner. all irrelevant to taste and nutrition
sausage eggs and crepes from a denny's restaurant is literally tastier and more nutritious. the only reason people even care what the food looks like is because of globalism and muh diverse and multicultural cuisine that looks like it was already digested once, so they have to come up with this expensive and tedious process to remedy that issue
when all they really needed to do was make more meat pies, hotdogs, hamburgers, and stop acting special and trying to show status by throwing money away at these scams.
