This seems like the most water take ever, yet I rarely hear people saying it.
Why pay people to be useless leeches?
If you can’t support yourself, that’s on you. Scrapping benefits would encourage people to work, or they would end up homeless. Would this lead to more crime? Likely, at least at first. Lock them up. Invest more money into policing, instead of giving it to useless lowlives. I’d even go as far as to say cull repeat offenders, but that is another debate.
What is the need to support these people? They contribute nothing. If they cannot find a way to legally support themselves, that’s natural selection. The only possible exception would be people with legitimate physical (not fake mental) disabilities. But the priority there would be working to get these people into work.
Upon losing your job, there should be a brief (maximum 2 months) period of job seeker’s allowance, for those who have worked at least 3 months for a single company.
The only people that will cry about this are the useless lowlives. “Muh I shouldn’t have to work”. No, you don’t. But you shouldn’t be paid if you don’t. If you’re smart, you can figure out ways to only work part time after a few years.
