You get at least 3-4 military factories from the focus trees, and same amount of civilian factories. Then just invest in artillery and take the superior firepower doctrine. Possibly fortify, if you can expect a war from stronger enemy soon.

Take Moldova or Albania for example, they are free clay for the Ottomans, in reality they could field massive armies and were a big challenge for the Turks, it sucks how easily you can annex Albania and Moldavia and Wallachia in the game, its just way to u historical and kinda immersion breaking.

Paradox games are super overrated and have nowhere near as much depth as they appear to have on the surface. Sure the UI looks complicated at first but after a while you realize that you actually have very limited control over anything and that the outcome of most games is deterministic. I would unironically arge that something like Civ4 has more depth than most Paradox games. The RNG in paradox games also tends to be utter bullshit.
