lebanon is that way cuz 40% of the pop is christian, and is a very touristy country otherwise theyd be similar to syrians, egypt is that way because its a poor shithole and needs tourism so it tries to soften up its ways in certain areas also cuz of christians, tunisians though are just naturally liberal despite being 99.9% muslim, they even banned hijab in pre 2011 or so. whats ironic is one of my bfs was a literal jihadist (tunisian)
