Growing fair out - awkward phase

So i’ve been growing my hair longer lately and how i got it i’m in the awkward phase rn. My hair are wavy and atm the hair gows till my lower lip if i pull it down. Problem is i cant style it. It’s not long enough to go back so i look like a lion and it’s not short enough to style it properly. It’s just hair on my head idk. My question is : is this just a phase and will be better or do i have to wait 2 years for that shit and it’s better to cut hair.
My hair isn’t horrible i can style it somehow but one wind or one false movement and i look like i got electrocuted.

my hair goes to my lower lip if i pull it down I wouldnt say its bad aslong as the back of your head has long hair to match it

use clay and sea salt spray as needed

and ofc you need layers so its not a helmet
