When I got a bone age X-ray and it said 18 I thought that was all the height growth. However, one morning I noticed I could see over one of the high cupboards, which was unusual. Whenever I measure my height, I always measure in the morning because I'm aware of spinal decompression. Typically my height is 175.5 cm (5'9), and when I measured myself again, it was 177 cm (5'9.5"). Despite the fact the growth plates in my hands are shut and im bone age 18. I know this isnt spinal decompression since I've never been 177 previously.

My dad is a late bloomer and he grew 8 inches at 17 (5'5 to 6'1) but I had a goyslop diet so i matured my plates and i fell 5 inches under my predicted height. However I believe the plates in my spine are still open and with the late bloomer gene i could gain about 3cm in rare case scenario, so probably 5'10.

essentially, don't think it's over for your height until you're 21. Just because your hands have closed plates, that doesnt mean 100% that your femur does and much less your spine.

Hand X-Rays are the standard method of measuring bone age and determining how much more a person will grow. Spine growth after hand plates close is minimal and won't change anything if you're already a manlet. W ad hominem fallacy

Saddest cope, it was most likely just posture and spinal decompression

Bro has a self proclaimed 130iq yet still argues you can grow 3cm after wrist plates close. That almost never happens, this study shows that growth plates close from the foot to the wrist, meaning that once your hand plates are closed in the vast majority of cases so are your leg plates.

Ok, if you want to insult my intelligence then I expect you to respond to my argument properly

Your study examined wrist, knee, and ankle. It never mentions the spine once. Vertebral ring apophyses are a separate structure with a separate fusion timeline. You cited a study that is completely irrelevant to spinal growth. The 3cm was vertebral, not long bone. Read what you post before you use it

You are correct. Vertebral ring apophyses do fuse later, however, post-wrist plate closure spinal growth is minimal in the vast majority of people like I've said before. Most people only get 0-1.5cm of growth, any significant or meaningful growth after your wrist plates have closed is extremely rare. Also your thread also referred to the femur, you are mostly correct about the spine.

Cases of 3cm exist but are rare and depend on factors like delayed HPG axis maturation and late bloomer genetics. I documented spinal growth and my dad who grew +8 inches at 17, so I am not making a general claim, I am describing my own outlier case

Exactly, you and your father are outliers. Telling people to not think its over until 21 is just wrong becauss it sets unrealistic expectations. Obviously their genetics, family history, and puberty timing matter, however, for the vast majority of people at that age little to no growth will occur. Obviously late bloomers exist, but rare anecdotal cases like yours and your fathers should not be generalised into expectations for the average person.
