growth plates

i tore my lateral meniscus in the summertime and had an mri, we scheduled surgery but i ended up canceling it to just do physical therapy, idk if this is a dumb question but does the tear affect my growth and growth plates at all and what about the surgery? i’m 16

No give me solution meniscus is cartilage however u spell it inside the knee, growth plates are at the end

No effect on growth plates. However im curious, how come u chose therapy over surgery? Surgery + recovery with therapy offers greater results

i wanted to still do winter sports for my school ik it sounds dumb because i could make it worse but it’s my little brothers first year on the team to, i think im going to get the surgery after the season ends

It's fine if your physiologist clears you for it but really consider surgery post-season. Meniscus tears are a pain in the ass
