yeah aside from the fact that women have naturally higher body fact percentages (obviously), the fact that moderate fat levels are good for childbearing means that women can get away with more when it comes to the extremities of fatness. the male ideal is low fat, which means that any excess fat for a man is much more repulsive as a divergence from the ideal than excess fat on a woman, whose ideal is moderate fat, even taking into account differences in ideal bodyfat percentages (ie if we say that 18% female bodyfat is equivalent to 12% male or whatever it is), so even with the different numbers, a fat female is not as far removed from ideal as a fat man. basically women should have squishy, although firm bodies, so an extremely squishy body is not as much of a qualitative, rather quantitative removal from ideal as a squishy male body, which should be hard. having said all that though i wouldnt look at an even moderately overweight woman
