I have 2 grand to spend on a set up and I have a decent laptop. Rn my set up is my laptop connected with hdmi cord to a 50 dollar monitor and a wired keyboard/mouse too.

I got 2 grand to spend on new monitor keyboard graphics chips what should I do I want a really good set up... Ideally for programming and gaming. I am just going to dual boot linux with windows. Linux for coding then switch to windows if I wanna game. I've never really played games more advanced then minecraft so I am completely lost when it comes to gaming PCs I just used it for coding or minecraft.

So the first priority is for coding a good display monitor system probably curved screen. The second is gaming so maybe a Navida chip.

Another thing I might try is one of those adjustable stand up desks. Basically the desk has a spring system and can be elevated into a standing or sitting desk with a lever. Not sure if anyone has tried one of those desks

Well I do move around a lot for classes so I will always have a use for it. But I will probably get a seperate piece of hardware its much cheaper to get a powerful piece of hardware thats stationary.

You don't need a lot of power for coding, specially gpu wise
I have a standard laptop which I use for when I have to move around, but at my house I have my desktop which is like my workstation.

2 grand isn't a lot of money you can make that in 2 weeks if you work hard in low tier work too. 2 grand is also the max I will spend not the minimum.

I owe every penny and every thing I have learned to my computer. The return on investment I have gotten just from a few hundred dollars is unimaginable I don't mind shelling more money into it. Its not like I am using it to buy a shitty sports car like most of you brokies would do.

I wish I got a laptop with a bigger screen its like only 12-13 inches. I use an old display I connect to my laptop as a second screen I got at good will and a wired key board. It works good but I am just looking to upgrade since I have the money I have used a similar set up for a year or 2 now.

Windows is good for average usage but I prefer ubuntu when I code

Personally I've found CRT monitors to have the most pleasing, aesthetic and comfortable image, they're also the fastest for gaming, so if you could somehow get an old high-end monitor like the Sony GDM FW900 it would be perfect.

For coding, typing documents, reading, studying, etc. nothing beats an e-ink monitor - they're basically like paper, with no backlight, so very little eye-strain.
